Battersea Park fireworks are Sat 7 Nov (8.30pm) and Sun 8 Nov (7pm), from £10.60. Herne Hill Velodrome on 31 Oct is waiting list only; Lambeth has none.

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, and Lambeth council is not putting on a display. It has not run one for years. What the borough has instead is two ticketed displays a short walk apart in SE24, one of them already fully priced and timed, and the very large Battersea Park display on the weekend of 7 and 8 November, which is now fully timed and priced as well.

Every fact below was checked against the organiser’s own published material on 5 September 2026.

Updated 3 October: the Herne Hill Velodrome fireworks on 31 October now show only a “Join waiting list” button on the Friends’ ticket page, with no tickets on sale. Dulwich and Battersea re-checked, both still selling.

Updated 28 September: Battersea Park has now published its 2026 dates, times and prices: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, fireworks about 8.30pm and 7pm, tickets from £10.60.

Herne Hill Velodrome fireworks, Saturday 31 October: now waiting list only

The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome are running their Halloween Fireworks on Saturday 31 October 2026 at the velodrome, 104 Burbage Road, SE24 9HE.

Tickets have gone. When we checked on 3 October, the Friends’ ticket page on Ticket Tailor offered only a “Join waiting list” button for the event, where it had been selling at the end of September. Because the Friends sell in advance only, with nothing on the gate, the waiting list is now the only way in. Their event page says a ticket can be transferred if the holder cannot make it, which is how waiting-list places tend to free up.

The event page publishes the whole running order:

Time What happens
5.00pm Gates open
5.45pm Fancy dress competition
6.00pm Bonfire lit
6.20pm Fire eaters
7.00pm Fireworks display
7.20pm LED dance show
9.30pm Event closes

The Ticket Tailor listing gives the close as 9pm rather than 9.30pm; the Friends’ own page says 9.30pm.

Tickets are £13.00 for adults plus a £1 booking fee, £8 for 12 to 16 year olds plus 75p, and £1 for under 12s plus 50p, with the booking fee charged on every ticket. Under 12s must be with an adult. The Friends are explicit that tickets are only available in advance, and that refunds happen only if the event is cancelled. Food and drink stalls are on site, and you cannot bring your own alcohol, glass or food in.

The venue is the last surviving facility from the 1948 Olympics, and the organisers make the practical case for it plainly: the banking of the track gives tiered vantage points, so a crowd can actually see. The lost child point is the ambulance, on your right as you come in. The site is wheelchair accessible but the Friends ask you to contact them first, on friends@hhvt.org.

The Friends are part of the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust, a registered charity, and say the money funds track sessions and mountain bike trails for local young people.

Dulwich Sports Club, Saturday 7 November, kids for a quid

The second display is a ten-minute walk away. Irvin Leisure runs Dulwich Fireworks at Dulwich Sports Club, Giant Arches Road, SE24 9HP, on Saturday 7 November 2026. Gates open at 5pm, live music starts at 5.30pm, and the fireworks go up around 7pm.

The draw is the “kid for a quid” price for under 12s, which is why it fills with local families. Irvin Leisure does not publish an adult price on the event page, only a booking link, so we are not quoting a figure. It does say clearly that there will be no tickets available on the night.

Both SE24 venues sit just over the boundary in Southwark, in Dulwich Village ward, despite the Herne Hill postcode. For anyone walking up from Herne Hill, Tulse Hill or West Norwood that distinction does not matter, but it is why neither appears on anything Lambeth publishes.

Battersea Park, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November

Battersea Park Fireworks is the big one, run by the not for profit Enable with Wandsworth Council, and it is the display most of Clapham and Stockwell actually goes to. Enable has now published the 2026 details on its information page, read again on 28 September. The two nights are different shows with different soundtracks.

Saturday 7 November Sunday 8 November
Car parks close 3pm 2pm (park businesses too)
Park closes for setup 4pm 3pm
Gates open 6pm 4.30pm
Headline act Rudimental DJ set, 7.30pm Lords of Lightning, 5.45pm
Last entry 8pm 6.30pm
Fireworks (approx) 8.30pm 7pm
Show ends 11pm 9.30pm

Enable’s line-up on its Saturday and Sunday pages adds Fiesta Latina with Conjunto Sabroso and a Disco Ceilidh after the display on Saturday, and the Taylor Swift tribute Fearlessly Taylor plus a Pop Anthems Afterparty with DJ Josh Lovatt on Sunday. The display itself is by Titanium Pyrotechnics, the firm behind the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve shows from 2023 to 2025. Rides are half price and drinks £5 from 6pm to 7pm.

Enable lists these prices, all sold through Kaboodle, with a booking fee on top:

  • Super Early Bird, 16 and over: £10.60
  • Early Bird, 16 and over: £13.10
  • General Admission, 16 and over: £16.70
  • Late Release, 16 and over: £15.90
  • Final Release, 16 and over: £18.10
  • Youth, 5 to 15: £11.50
  • Under 5s: free, but they still need a ticket

That is the list exactly as Enable publishes it, including a Late Release price below the General Admission one. The page does not say which tiers have sold, so the price you see at checkout is the one that counts. Tickets are advance only, with none on the gate, and they are non-refundable and non-transferable. There is no resale or waiting list. Up to four under 18s can come in with each adult, there are bag checks and no re-admission, and you cannot bring food, glass, alcohol or sparklers in.

Last year’s Access for All scheme, which offered discounted tickets to eligible residents on means tested benefits, has no page on this year’s site: the old address now returns “page not found”. Enable has not said whether it is running again. Disabled visitors can apply for a free Essential Companion ticket and a place on the accessible viewing platform through the accessibility page.

Why Lambeth has nothing of its own

This is the question people actually type, so here is the answer with dates on it. Lambeth’s free Brockwell Park display was scrapped years ago. A commercial operator, Lambeth Fireworks, then ran a paid event in the park, and Brixton Buzz covered the last one on Saturday 3 November 2018. There was no display in Brockwell Park in 2019, and the gap was filled that year by the Brixton Soup Kitchen putting on a free community display on 5 November. In December 2020 the council was advertising for a commercial partner to run fifty event days a year in Brockwell Park, a November fireworks display for 40,000 paying customers among them. That did not produce one.

Nothing has changed for 2026. Lambeth’s own events calendar at event.lambeth.gov.uk, checked on 5 September, lists no park event after Oktoberfest on the Common on 9 October. Nothing in November, nothing in December. Londonist’s London-wide 2026 round-up, last updated 4 September, names no Lambeth display either.

Parking, and getting there

Neither SE24 organiser offers parking, and both say so.

  • Herne Hill Velodrome: “There will be no parking at the Velodrome and parking in the local area is limited.” Walk, cycle or take the train. It is a short walk from Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations, and buses 3 and 201 stop at Croxted Road / Turney Road, the 37 at Half Moon Lane / Burbage Road.
  • Dulwich Sports Club: no parking on site, same walk-up from Herne Hill.
  • Battersea Park: no parking in the park apart from a few blue badge bays on Prince of Wales Drive near Alexandra Gate, first come first served. That road closes at 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday, so blue badge holders show their badge to stewards. The park car parks close at 3pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday. Enable points people at Battersea Park, Queenstown Road, Clapham Junction and Victoria stations, Battersea Power Station on the Northern line, and buses 19, 170, 319 and 345. Cycle parking is at Albert Gate only, and Enable suggests Albert Gate as the quieter entrance if you are coming from Clapham Junction.

Assume the residential streets around all three will be full and stewarded. If you are driving anywhere locally that week, our parking page sets out Lambeth’s controlled parking zones, their hours and what the bays cost, and the roadworks and travel page carries the closures and diversions currently in force.

Neither Lambeth nor Southwark has published a road closure order for either SE24 display, and none was in force for them last year.

What we will update, and when

  • Whether the Dulwich adult ticket price appears on Irvin Leisure’s page.
  • Whether Battersea’s Access for All discount returns, and any sold-out notice for either night.
  • Any late Lambeth or Brixton community display. In 2019 the Brixton Soup Kitchen’s free display was announced on 31 October, four days out, so a November surprise is not impossible. Lambeth’s events calendar still listed nothing after 9 October when we checked on 28 September.

Frequently asked questions

Are there fireworks in Clapham or Brixton in 2026?

No. Lambeth council is running no bonfire night display, and none is listed on its events calendar for November. The nearest are at Herne Hill Velodrome on Saturday 31 October and Dulwich Sports Club on Saturday 7 November, both with SE24 addresses, and Battersea Park on 7 and 8 November.

Are the Herne Hill Velodrome fireworks sold out?

As of 3 October 2026, yes in effect: the Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome ticket page shows only “Join waiting list” for the 31 October display. There are no tickets on the night. Dulwich Sports Club on 7 November and Battersea Park on 7 and 8 November were both still on sale.

How much are tickets for the Herne Hill Velodrome fireworks?

£13 for adults, £8 for 12 to 16 year olds and £1 for under 12s, with a booking fee of £1, 75p and 50p respectively on each ticket. The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome sell them in advance only, with nothing on the gate.

What time do the Herne Hill fireworks start?

Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire is lit at 6pm and the display starts at 7pm, followed by an LED dance show at 7.20pm. The event closes at 9.30pm.

When are the Battersea Park fireworks 2026?

Saturday 7 November, gates 6pm and fireworks about 8.30pm, and Sunday 8 November, gates 4.30pm and fireworks about 7pm. Last entry is 8pm on Saturday and 6.30pm on Sunday. Adult tickets run from £10.60 to £18.10 depending on the release, youth tickets are £11.50 and under 5s go free.

Why did Brockwell Park stop having fireworks?

The free display was scrapped years ago. A commercial operator, Lambeth Fireworks, ran a paid event in the park up to Saturday 3 November 2018, and there was no display in 2019. Lambeth advertised for a commercial partner to run a 40,000-capacity November display in December 2020 and nothing came of it.

Is there parking at any of the displays?

No. Herne Hill Velodrome says there is no parking on site and limited parking locally, Dulwich Sports Club has none, and Battersea Park has none beyond a few disabled bays. All three organisers tell you to walk, cycle or take the train.
